What We Investigate

Origin & Cause Investigations

Systematic examination of fire scenes to determine the area of origin and identify potential ignition sources. We collect and survey physical evidence, conduct control testing, and perform electrical component examination — all in accordance with NFPA 921 methodology.

Product Failure Analysis

In-depth evaluation and testing of electrical products, components, and appliances. We determine potential failure modes such as defects, flaws, and construction errors — from residential appliances to commercial distribution systems.

Vehicle Fire Investigation

CVFI-certified analysis of passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, and agricultural equipment. Investigations include examinations of 12V systems, alternators, batteries, battery conduits, and aftermarket wiring.

Expert Witness Testimony

Deposition and trial testimony in matters involving electrical fires, product failures, and vehicle fire origins. We accept expert witness assignments for both plaintiff and defense counsel.

BSEET, Purdue University

Over forty years of experience in origin and cause investigations, product failure analysis, and electrical and electronic evaluations. Founded ElectroTek Consultants in 1995.

Served on the NFPA 921 Technical Committee from 2004 through 2018. Lead Electrical Instructor at Fire Findings Laboratory for approximately 28 years. Over 150 depositions and trial testimonies as an expert witness.

BSIET, Purdue University

Leads ElectroTek's forensic investigations, specializing in fire origin and cause determination and product failure analysis. Holds degrees in Industrial Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and an Automotive Technician diploma.

Served as volunteer firefighter and Captain with Northeast Fire and EMS (2000–2018), bringing firsthand fire suppression experience to forensic analysis.
